Wilmette Jewelers, located in downtown Wilmette, Illinois, approached Fabric Images in the hopes of creating new and exciting window displays to replace the typical signage that was seen in their windows. Our team worked closely with the client and together they decided to have the windows tell a story. Spring and summer are bursting with wedding, engagements, and beautiful weather, so we wanted to create a story that was both playful and inspiring. The story combines the playfullness of blowing bubbles with the romance and elegance that is seen in engagements and at weddings.  The silhouette cut outs were cut on a CNC machine, and then adhered to the linen fabric using a fabric adhesive and sewing techniques. The opaque black silhouettes created a very bold look against the soft, sheer linen that was printed purple using dye sublimation printing. A silicone edge was sewn to the edge of the fabrics, which will allow easy change out of different scenes for all seasons. The frames slide in and out of the existing window frames easily, and are mounted using custom tabs (much like the way a back of a picture frame works). Fitting our aluminum frames to the existing window frames was the key to the flawless execution of this custom design solution.
